SIDE POSTURE POSITIONING

The Gonstead pelvic bench is usually placed against a wall to ensure patient safety and security.

The pillow may be positioned at either end of the table so that the patient may lie with his/her head at either end.


Gonstead pelvic bench

 Patient is seated at approximately the middle of the table.


Patient positioning
Patient is instructed to crawl down onto the table and asked to lie near the front edge.
Patient is placed on the front 1/3 of the table with knees slightly bent.
Pt. positioning for left listings
Patient's upper hip and knee are flexed, positioning the top leg foot behind the lower leg knee.
Upper hip flexed.
